My Work as a Writer
Writing, for me, is an act of preservation — of memory, identity, and truth. I’m drawn to personal histories that intersect with larger historical forces: war, exile, faith, migration, and cultural survival. Much like my films, my writing explores the silences between official narratives — the stories passed down in whispers, the ones carried in hearts rather than textbooks. I write to give voice to those who have endured, resisted, and rebuilt. Whether through biography, historical non-fiction, or personal essay, I try to create work that resonates with compassion, clarity, and purpose.
